On November 28, the everis Foundation held the award ceremony for the Global everis Awards 2019, awards for innovation and technological entrepreneurship in which the winners of the national version of the award in 10 countries in Europe and Latin America have participated.
elzaburu, the oldest and most prestigious firm specialized in the protection of intangibles in Spain, has collaborated in this award organized by the everis Foundation, as IP & IT advisors of the six Spanish finalists and the ten international finalists, as part of the continuous commitment to innovation.
The Navarrese Juan Abascal, Spanish representative, has been the winning entrepreneur with his WasherCapTM project. Likewise, it competed with other projects such as a brain device to recover mobility in the hands after a stroke; a smart coating to prevent the collapse of buildings during an earthquake or a system to eliminate pathogens from water without using chemical processes.
Juan Abascal, winner of the everis Spain Award 2019 endowed with 30.000 euros, he also received 60.000 euros as an international winner, as well as mentoring by a team made up of specialists from the everis group.
Collaboration of the Elzaburu office
Based on this collaboration, Elzaburu provided, among other advantages, the mentoring of the six Spanish finalists and one evaluation of merits from the perspective of Industrial and Intellectual Property of these six finalist projects in the Spanish competition, to help the jury know the degree of innovation of the product or service, the robustness of the entry barrier of the sector where the business development and marketing is carried out, as well as the scope of the protection of Industrial and Intellectual Property.
Likewise, the firm carried out a immersion workshop in Industrial and Intellectual Property and Information Technologies to the 10 international finalists, by the expert Alba Maria Lopez, associate and part of the Legal Area of the firm. These face-to-face meetings with the diplomatic delegations of their respective countries have served to explore possibilities for international expansion.
