«It may seem like a different scenario to us, but it is not so different. Just as platforms and social networks such as Twitter, Instagram or YouTube apply mechanisms for the identification, reporting and elimination of infringing content generated by the users themselves, metaverses must also apply this type of control mechanisms.

And adds two recommendations:

– To guarantee trademark protection, the most prudent thing to do is expand the protection of trademark registrations.

- Control user-generated content (UGC) to market, due to the risk they pose of infringement of rights of intellectual property of third parties
