ELZABURU’s CSR policy is rooted in the mission, vision, values and principles of our Firm and its professionals who embody those values and support our business and our relations with our clients, and it has grown out of our transparent dialogue and relations with stakeholders.
COMPLIANCE | COMPLAINTS CHANNEL
ELZABURU bases its work on a series of ethical principles, transparency and compliance with current legislation. The Firm is governed in its actions by the principles of professional ethics established by the relevant professional associations and institutions and by the rules of conduct laid down in its internal Code of Ethics. It also adheres to a scrupulous system of conflict resolution, to avoid cases of client conflict that may arise in the course of its activity, through review by the Client Conflict Oversight Board (CCOB). Access is also available to the Firm’s Complaints Channel.

Finally, as part of the drive for excellence that governs the strategic management of the Firm, ELZABURU has obtained ISO 9001 certification, thanks to its commitment to quality and excellence, stemming from the ethical demands of the very practice of the profession. This certification has entailed the implementation of certain protocols on operations, systems operability and use of means and materials which all the Firm’s professionals and administrative staff are required to observe.

The ELZABURU Firm adheres to the United Nations Global Compact (UN Global Compact), an international initiative that promotes corporate social responsibility (CSR), seeking to implement the 10 universally accepted principles in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption in company activities and business strategy.

As part of ELZABURU’s contribution to education and its commitment to serving society, the Firm’s professionals voluntarily and proactively contribute to the dissemination of knowledge in the area of intellectual and industrial property through participation in conferences, congresses, courses and seminars, as well as press interviews and publications. ELZABURU also participates annually in training programmes for young professionals through different cooperation agreements with Spanish universities, enabling several students to complement their studies with experience at the Firm every year.

ELZABURU also promotes social, cultural and sporting activities among the Firm’s employees.

PRO-BONUS

The pro bono advice programme was launched in 2016 in collaboration with the Pro Bono Spain Foundation, thus fulfilling the Firm’s commitment to selflessly share its IP know-how and experience with society. The aim of the programme will always be to offer comprehensive IP advice to non-profit organizations.

The aim is to nurture and foster innovation and intellectual and industrial property as crucial factors contributing to free enterprise, job creation, investment, development and business activity.

Environmental Impact

Respect for the environment is a prerequisite for any organization with a commitment to sustainability.

For years, ELZABURU has incorporated measures aimed at promoting respect for the environment through the implementation of actions geared towards responsible consumption of natural resources, in order to minimize environmental impact (reduction in paper consumption, reduction in the number of new physical paper case files, energy efficiency measures through the implementation of LED lighting and installation of new doors and windows, secure paper document shredding/recycling containers, waste management, packaging and waste recycling campaigns, etc.).
