Ruth Benito

As head of the Strategy and Personal Data Management Division at ELZABURU, Ruth advises domestic and international companies on privacy, personal data protection, and information governance, providing support for both digital transformation projects and the day-to-day management of their regulatory obligations.

She has extensive experience in the design, implementation, and oversight of data protection compliance programs, as well as in conducting impact assessments, audits, risk analyses, international data transfers, data breach management, and handling proceedings before supervisory authorities. She also regularly advises on the negotiation of complex technology contracts and on projects related to artificial intelligence, digital services, e-commerce, and other emerging technologies.

Throughout her career, she has advised organizations in a wide range of sectors and has also served as an external Data Protection Officer (DPO). Her experience includes assisting corporate groups in defining global privacy strategies, coordinating multinational compliance programs, and designing data governance models tailored to complex corporate environments.

She also provides consulting services on corporate regulatory compliance, particularly with regard to compliance management systems, codes of ethics, internal reporting channels, and compliance programs related to data protection and the responsible use of technology. She currently also serves as Compliance Officer at ELZABURU.
