ELZABURU’s international focus has been part of the firm since its inception. For more than 160 years, we have built relationships with companies, professionals, and institutions around the world and have actively participated in the evolution of industrial and intellectual property.
This history is closely linked to some of the leading international associations in the sector. We have been involved since the founding of AIPPI in 1897, and, generation after generation, we have maintained an active role in organizations such as INTA and FICPI, contributing to the development of the profession and the creation of opportunities for international cooperation.
We also collaborate with industry associations specializing in intellectual property, such as PTMG (Pharmaceutical Trade Marks Group), which focuses on trademarks and intellectual property in the pharmaceutical sector.
Today, that network of relationships—built up over decades—allows us to support our clients internationally with more than just geographic coverage: market knowledge, direct communication, and trusting relationships with professionals in various jurisdictions.

We have professionals who are fluent in French, German, and Italian—many of whom are native speakers—and who have knowledge of their respective business and legal environments.
Our French, German, and Italian Desks facilitate direct communication with European clients and partners and coordinated management from Spain.
This connection with Europe is further strengthened by our participation in professional associations such as GRUR, a leading German organization in the field of industrial property and copyright; ECTA and MARQUES, European organizations with a particular focus on trademarks and other intellectual property rights; and UNION-IP, which brings together industrial property professionals from various European countries.

Our track record and our network of relationships on both sides of the Atlantic allow us to serve as a bridge between Latin America and Europe, coordinating international strategies and facilitating dialogue among companies, professionals, and local teams.
This connection to the region is strengthened through our participation in ASIPI, the Inter-American Association for Intellectual Property, which brings together intellectual property professionals and organizations from Latin America and other countries in the Americas.
